King of the Beats isn't just a brand name for a video project or a family of music events. It is about educating people to really appreciating the music (in this case true school hip-hop) they love they need to understand the foundation and to create new music the right way in terms of searching for a sample and creating new beats to a level when you get fundamental respect and credibility in the long term. Anything else is only short term and the real music artists, producers and audience will notice this a mile away.
The project is developed and organised by a close friend Pritt Kalsi who is the director of King of the Beats. Since 1999 a series of video based challenges for music DJ's and producers to search sounds to sample within a small budget and produces original and ground-breaking new beats. The project was originally based in the UK however the chapter of King of the Beats are expanding to more places round the world.
On the website it will focuses on my angle with photography and analysis of the challenges and events I have involved in.

My involvement was gradually but was much more of a participant during the 2nd video project - "King of the beats 2 - The Challenge returns when I was one of the filming team in the UK using a video camera. Then I was one of the filming and photography team at a series of DVD premieres at Leicester and London.
During the UK tour featuring Mikey D from Main Source I assisted to promote the event by distribute the promotional flyers and posters at record shops, clothing shops, universities and Students Union bars across Birmingham. I filmed the London event using the video camera and also filmed the challenges before the events in both London and Birmingham. For the Birmingham event I was one of the photography team. Since then live events has developed over a number of years and recently new clubs nights has developed with "DJ Soundclash" in London and "Party Groove" in Birmingham
More recently my involvement has evolved with regular cross-promoting King of the Beats related events online via social networking sites, distributing flyers and posters round London (and elsewhere when the event is not in London).
On the event day I assist preparing the event behind the scenes and on the event night I assist on either filming or provide some photography on the night.
This project is developed and directed by Pritt Kalsi.
