King of the Beats 4th Live challenge highlights

28th June 2010 written by Keith Mckenzie

Another King of the Beats live challenge came to life.

A World Cup theme was given to the Vibe bar with the various international flags round the venue. As a one off treatment the big screen was reflected over the DJ and live area stage rather than at the side. Meanwhile the early part of the night the Vibe Bar screened a world cup tournament between USA and Ghana. A little delay due to world cup game leads to extra-time and penalties.

After the end of the game the night started officially with more crowds arriving and the vide started to come alive. DJ Devastate and Key Figures represented the mix and Sparkii Skii provided vibes to the crowds with some his produced instrumentals beats. While the one of London event winner Tha 4orce was to encourage the crowds to be more lively before thew main event.

As most regular followers  live events the Hip-Hop event the Hip-Hop legend Spakii Skii is the min host how ever he never been officially introduced so i decided threat as i part of the project i decided to come on stage and did the introducing on stage.

Live mixes and freestyles leading towards the start of the original beats challenge "live". After one week after search for records spending several days produce new sounds, the four contenders (in no particular order) Chemo

Iron Brandz, Solomon Caine and Myke Forte presented their completed sounds live on stage.

The judging took place then big announcement on the winner. A runner was announced for the first time in the history of King of Beats live challenges.  Solomon Caine was confirmed as the runner up. For the first time in the King of the Beats London history the London winner was not from London. Representing the Midlands (and not North regardless on what Sprkii Skii says) Myke Forte from Birmingham won the 4th live London challenge. Myke was presented the special created King of the Beats record in a frame as the prize. That was not the only the only firsts for the event, the least amounts records used in live King of the beats challenges history won. Myke only used a total records of two! This proved that quality is more important than quantity. A live freestyle session over the winning instrumental beats from various MC's including Madflow.

A night full of live vibes and quality sounds mixed a bitter world cup flavour made an exceptional king of the beats jam.

This event continues in August and we will all find out who will win the 5th London live challenge of King of Beats!
