King of the Beats end of year special.

The Pre-event challenge

The pre-event challenge has started with final preparations takes shape for the end of year special event for  Saturday 20th November.  The challenge itself started at West London, when 5 out the six contenders was at Notting Hill Gate area on 13th November. They spent the day searching and diggin for records for the live challenge. Many has taken part before and are back again to for the live challenge plus one new contender. The challenge continued on the 17th November when one contender searched and diggin for records in Birmingham City Centre.


The Contenders

The November 2010 contenders for King of the Beats are:


Da 4orce

Based in London, he battled against 3 other contenders to win the 2nd live challenge in February 2010.

Despite he was known as an emcee and producer, he has become a regular face at each London based challenges when he became a co-host at the live events at the Vibe Bar along with Sparkii Skii

Recently he was in New York City involved in a special King of the Beats project and meeting some of legendary names in Hip-Hop music over the part 40 years. 

(Watch out for more from this special project in New York for King of the beats in 2011) 

Not only Da 4orce is back against to compete for King of the Beats but he will also be featured on the second King of the Beats released 7 inch record. This will be available to buy on the end of year special. (see below for details)


D'lux Beats

Based in London, he won the 3rd live challenge back in May 2010 to get there he had to battle for the title against 4 other contenders. Recently D'lux was featured on the first King of the Beats released 7 inch record when 300 copies were sold on the August 2010 live challenge and more was in demand since.


Deejay XL aka Deejay Xelcior

A brand new contender for King of the Beats, representing the South West of England from Plymouth. He plays an important part of hip-hop radio and video via the world wide web on shadesradio.com.  A deejay and a producer and also involved with the technology side of music production. He was responsible for promoting & organising the 'FLAVA' the monthly Hip Hop night during the mid 90's - early 2000.  His other work including DJ & Beatmaker for 'The Cohorts' EP "Told you so" released in 1999 (A Hip Hop Group from Plymouth). He is currently studying 2nd yr Degree in sound engineering & production. He is also affiliated to the Temple of Hip-Hop. He is now the second contender from outside London to compete in the London based King of the Beats live challenge.


Danny Spice

A London based emcee and producer battled against 3 other contenders in August 2010 to win the 5th live challenge,


Jay King & Mack One

A London based producers was the winner of the very first London based live challenge together at September 2009 (that event was part of the UK tour featuring Mikey D from Main Source).


Recently Jay King & Mack One was featured on the first King of the Beats released 7 inch record when 300 copies were sold on the August 2010 live challenge and more was in demand since.


Myke Forte

He was the first contender who is not from London not only to compete but to win a live challenge in the London zone.  Myke representing the Midlands from Birmingham battled against 3 other contenders from London to win the 4th Live London Challenge in June 2010.


All contenders now have a few days to produce new sounds from the records they have brought with a limited budget of £20.


The Main Event


The King of the Beats, End of year Special is on Saturday November 20th at London's Vibe Bar

Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, E1. we are located upstairs. Free entry before 8 pm, £4 afterwards.


A limited edition King of the Beats 7-inch record produced by Tha 4orce. A track is a special dedication to legendary Hip-Hop producer Marley Marl. This exclusive KOTB record available on the night for £5 each but but only limited 300 copies available.


Live in the mix, DJ Devastate, Key Figures will be on the wheels of steel, plus special guests The Steel Devils


The night is hosted by Sparkii Skii.

As part of the night The Original Beat Challenge when each contender will present the final produced beats, this  after when challenge started a few days earlier at a record store. The winner will win all the beaks purchased from all contenders and will win the King of the Beats 6th live London challenge, "Who's gonna take the create?" 


As we have brought back some of the former contenders and winners plus a new one to add more vibe, this live challenge should be quality night when the contenders battle it out for King of the Beats title to end 2010 in style.
